Abir Schmidt
LMSW
I provide therapy in both Arabic and English and work deeply with intergenerational and religious trauma. I understand Arab cultural dynamics, family expectations, and the tension between generations, faith, identity, and autonomy. I offer a sex positive, kink aware, queer affirming space, including for those navigating queerness within Muslim or Arab communities, without shame or judgment. I believe mental health care should be accessible. Fees may be flexible and I am open to having that conversation.
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or worn down is not a failure. Many people come to therapy carrying fear, pressure, grief, and unspoken pain while trying to survive. I offer a steady, direct, and compassionate space to slow down and speak honestly about your life, relationships, past, and patterns. I do not avoid hard conversations and I hold them with care. My work is shaped by lived experience, including faith shifts, relationship healing, and identity work. I support adults navigating trauma, divorce, separation, burnout, and people pleasing as they build clarity, boundaries, and a stronger connection to their voice and worth.
