Growing up, Hana developed a deep interest in mental health and its profound impact on individuals and their communities. Advocating for mental well-being and fostering safe, open conversations around mental health remain part of her core passions.

Unfortunately, the persistent stigma surrounding mental health in Arab communities has led many people she cares about to suffer in silence, hesitant to seek help. Witnessing these struggles firsthand inspired her to focus her efforts on breaking these barriers and exploring ways to improve mental health care accessibility and acceptance within our community.

Hana joined the Arab American Mental Health Association to help create a space where mental health is discussed without shame or fear. Building an environment that normalizes these conversations is vital to dismantling stigma and promoting collective healing.
