Ryan Hassan was born and raised in the United Arab Emirates with Lebanese traditions and values. Having experienced culture shock after moving to the United States, Ryan obtained pride in the fact that he is Arab, and his love for the Arab culture only grew stronger each day. He believes in the importance and power of unity, that no matter where we come from, we are all Arab and share the same language. It is through this that his burning desire of curing individuals, whether Arab or not, continues to grow.

Ryan wants to be directly involved in the treatment of individuals who have gone through traumatic experiences. He believes that mental health is as important as physical health and should be taken more seriously. His love for Lebanon and the Arab World along with his sense of duty for his people allows him to keep going and push harder for the sake of others. The ultimate goal that Ryan strives to achieve is to open a clinic in one of the Gulf countries.

Ryan joined the AAMHA in the hopes of bringing a change within the community, to unite with one another, and to educate the importance of mental health.
