Sara is a Psychology and Arabic Studies double major, hoping to marry her two interests in a career in immigrant and refugee counseling. After helping found the Arab Cultural Student Association, she became more familiar with the struggles of her community. Every opportunity she received, Sara used her psychology assignments to further her research in the area of Arab and Arab-American mental health, writing up literature reviews, as well as research and intervention proposals. A recent study abroad in Egypt allowed her to continue learning about this issue, alongside the Arab refugee crisis, in a non-Western setting - further fueling her curiosity and drive to help. Through her membership in AAMHA, Sara hopes to breathe life into her research and intervention proposals, disseminate knowledge, and continue learning how to better serve her community.
